Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in the petrochemical industry with a strong background in Oil and Gas Production and Refining.
- Experience with pipe specifications, layouts and stress analysis.
- Professional Engineering license preferred but not required.
- Experience required in design, specification, application, and
modification of rotating and fixed equipment, such as:
- Pressure vessels
- Heat exchangers
- Pumps
- Compressors
- Turbines
- Experience also required in:
- P&ID development and review
- Piping layout
- Pipe Stress
- Equipment drawing review and approval.
- Excellent working knowledge of ASME pressure vessel and piping codes and API standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills - Microsoft Applications (Word/Excel) and engineering software programs, such as COMPRESS, and FEA programs.
- Capable of some travel and remote site assignments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed design of projects in compliance with governing codes, regulatory requirements and Client standards.
- Estimating and scheduling
- Solve problems by using a combination of standard procedures, modification of standard procedures, or methods developed in previous assignments.
- Complete independent studies, analyses, interpretations and conclusions.
- Give technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
- Require some supervision and review of work for technical accuracy.
- Able to be given an opportunity and then define the scope of work to accomplish.
