Anvil is proud to support two scholarship foundations that provide engineering and design scholarships in the Bellingham, WA area.
The first endowment supports the Bellingham Technical College Foundation, where scholarships are awarded annually to a student who is studying engineering or drafting at BTC. The second endowment fund that Anvil participates in is with Whatcom Community Foundation.
Bellingham Technical College Foundation
The mission of the BTC Foundation is to change lives by expanding access to quality education for the students of Bellingham Technical College.
Anvil has an endowment fund through the BTC Foundation. The BTC foundation aims for an annual distribution of 5% of the fund’s value. These distributions are allocated to scholarships (4%) and non-scholarship emergency support (1%) for students. The majority of the endowment is invested, and the BTC Foundations Finance Committee reviews the investment performance quarterly to ensure the endowment’s longevity, ideally in perpetuity.
In 2025, Anvil distributed funds to 4 BTC students.
Anvil Engineering & Science Scholarship Fund – Whatcom Community Foundation
Our scholarship is titled the Anvil Engineering & Science Scholarship Fund. This endowment was started by John and Cheryl Macpherson and Anvil donates to the fund annually. In 2025, 2 scholarships were awarded to students studying engineering.
